Special Education Teacher in Timmonsville, SC

You’ll play a pivotal role at the Lake City Early Childhood Center, providing specialized instruction and fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment for young children with diverse needs.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teacher license in the state of South Carolina (required—no exceptions)
• Proven experience or strong interest in working with early childhood or elementary-age students in a self-contained classroom
• Knowledge of individualized education programs (IEPs), differentiated instruction, and positive behavior intervention strategies
• Outstanding communication and collaboration skills with families, staff, and multidisciplinary teams
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional growth

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement effective lesson plans tailored to meet each student’s unique learning needs
• Maintain accurate records of progress, interventions, and IEP compliance
• Collaborate with assistants, therapists, and general education staff
• Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers regarding goals and progress
