Special Education Teacher - Tinley Park, IL

Exciting opportunity for a passionate Special Education Teacher to support high school learners in a well-organized, collaborative environment! Utilize your expertise to guide 9th- and 11th-grade students through Algebra I and Algebra II in a mix of self-contained and co-taught settings.

Your role will be both impactful and well-supported with a clear instructional schedule consisting of five sections: three self-contained (two Algebra I, one Algebra II) with manageable class sizes, and two co-taught sections providing targeted push-in support to students with diverse learning needs. Enjoy streamlined lesson planning, as all sections maintain aligned curricula and pacing guidelines.

Collaboration is at the heart of this position—you’ll work closely with general education teachers to develop and deliver differentiated instruction and accommodations. With centralized operational case management, your main focus will be on instruction, student progress, and IEP development, allowing for meaningful student engagement without the added burden of administrative duties. You'll be responsible for writing and developing IEPs for around 15 assigned students, while a dedicated case manager handles compliance, scheduling, and documentation oversight.

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Illinois Learning Behavior Specialist 1 (LBS1) certification
• Recent experience (minimum of two years) teaching special education at the secondary level
• Strong proficiency in developing and implementing IEPs for students with diverse needs
• Commitment to collaborative planning and differentiated instructional practices
