We need an experienced special education teacher to provide remote instruction and support to students with disabilities throughout Ohio!! This position offers the flexibility of working from home while making a real difference in students' academic lives.
Position Overview: This full-time remote role involves serving approximately 45-50 students in grades 3-8 who require specialized instruction... You'll deliver direct instruction, develop IEPs, monitor progress, and collaborate with school teams all through virtual platforms. The typical work week is 35-37.5 hours.
What You'll Be Responsible For: Providing specially designed instruction tailored to individual student needs in core academic subjects (reading, writing, math) Creating and implementing standards-based lesson plans adapted for students with disabilities Developing comprehensive IEPs including present levels, goals, accommodations, and modifications Conducting ongoing progress monitoring and maintaining detailed data Differentiating instruction to meet diverse learning needs and styles Managing virtual classroom environment to maximize engagement and learning Communicating consistently with parents about student performance and progress Collaborating with general education teachers on accommodations and supports Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings and IEP conferences Ensuring compliance with all special education requirements and timelines
What You Need: Master's degree is required along with a current Ohio intervention specialist license / At least 2 years of teaching experience in school-based settings / Strong understanding of special education law and IEP development / Ability to use technology effectively for virtual instruction / Excellent organizational and time management skills / Strong communication and collaboration abilities
Student Population: Your students will have identified disabilities including learning disabilities, autism, ADHD/OHI, mild intellectual disabilities, and multiple disabilities -- You'll need to be comfortable working with students who have diverse academic and behavioral needs.
