Desired Experience & Qualifications:

  • Active Kansas Special Education Teacher Certification (SPED Cert in KS) required
  • Experience teaching in resource or specialized (self-contained) settings is highly valued
  • Ability to work effectively with students at both elementary and secondary grade levels
  • Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Passion for fostering inclusive and adaptive learning environments

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students’ unique needs
  • Adapt curriculum and instruction for students with varying abilities, collaborating with general education teachers and related service providers
  • Monitor student progress, track goals, and communicate effectively with families and faculty
  • Foster a positive, supportive classroom climate that encourages learning and growth
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations

This full-time contract position offers a consistent 37.5-hour work week with placement at a single site—allowing you to build strong relationships with students and staff.
