Multiple positions are open for certified Special Education Teachers to support middle and high school learners focusing on life skills and resource programs. Key Qualifications:

  • Valid and active Special Education teaching certification for the state of Kansas
  • Experience working with middle and/or high school students in a life skills or resource setting preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and progress monitoring
  • Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management abilities
  • Collaborative approach and commitment to fostering student growth and independence

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction and adapt curriculum based on each student’s IEP goals
  • Manage caseloads for either middle school life skills or high school resource students
  • Monitor, track, and report student performance and progress to teams and families
  • Develop engaging lesson plans that encourage participation, self-advocacy, and skill development
  • Collaborate with general educators and staff to ensure inclusive, supportive learning environments
  • Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and professional development as needed
  • Create a positive, respectful, and motivating classroom atmosphere
