Qualifications:

  • Active Utah Special Education Teacher license or certification required
  • Background or interest in elementary-level, K-3 special education and life skills instruction
  • Experience developing and implementing IEPs for students with varying abilities
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to fit the needs of each student

Responsibilities:

  • Guide a K-3 Life Skills classroom, fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment
  • Develop and deliver individualized instruction tailored to student goals and abilities
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, paraeducators, and support staff
  • Monitor student progress, documenting growth and adjusting plans as needed
  • Engage with families, providing regular updates on student development
  • Implement effective classroom management and behavioral support strategies
  • Participate in school meetings, IEP conferences, and ongoing professional development
