Key Qualifications:

• Valid Maine 282 (Special Education Teacher) certification required
• Current CHRC certification is mandatory
• Willingness to complete Safety Care training
• Previous experience creating and implementing positive behavioral support plans
• Understanding or experience with MTSS (Multi-Tiered Systems of Support) highly valued
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
• Commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and student-centered classroom

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs) for K-5 students
• Utilize evidence-based strategies to address academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs
• Design and apply positive behavioral support plans to encourage student growth and success
• Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and families to drive positive outcomes
• Collect and analyze data to inform instruction and support MTSS frameworks
• Maintain accurate records in line with district and state requirements
• Foster an environment of respect, encouragement, and high expectations for all learners
