Inspire and guide young learners as a Special Education Teacher for a first and second grade caseload during the 2026-2027 school year. This contract opportunity is conveniently located near Torrington, CT, with a full-time schedule from August 2026 through June 2027. Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching license or certification
- Experience working with elementary students, especially in a special education capacity
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborative spirit and willingness to partner with teachers, support staff, and families
- Adaptability and resourcefulness when supporting students’ varying needs
What You’ll Do:
- Provide direct instruction and support to special education students in first and second grade
- Develop, implement, and track IEP goals and accommodations for your assigned caseload
- Modify curriculum and utilize a range of instructional strategies to promote student success
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and encouraging classroom environment
- Communicate progress and collaborate with families, administrators, and student support services
- Maintain accurate records and participate in team meetings
