Key Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification
• Experience working with elementary-aged students, ideally across a range of learning needs
• Proficiency in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Strong classroom management and differentiation skills
• Comfort and skill in both academic instruction and behavioral interventions
• Ability to collaborate with paras and other support staff within self-contained settings
• Excellent communication abilities with students, families, and team members

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and adapt curriculum to meet students’ diverse needs within a self-contained classroom
• Develop and monitor IEPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
• Utilize a variety of teaching techniques and assistive technology to engage and support students with mild to moderate and moderate to severe disabilities
• Supervise and mentor paraprofessionals, promoting an inclusive and supportive environment
• Collect data on student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
• Communicate regularly with families and educational stakeholders regarding student achievements and goals
• Participate in professional development and ongoing training as required
