Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid teaching certification (open to various types; special education focus preferred)
• Experience teaching at elementary, 10th grade, or 11th grade level is an asset
• Strong commitment to supporting students with special needs in a self-contained classroom setting
• Effective communication and classroom management skills
• Adaptable, positive, and collaborative approach working with students, families, and staff
• Onsite availability required

Core Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored instruction and individualized support to students in self-contained classrooms (elementary or high school)
• Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams
• Foster a supportive, structured classroom environment that encourages academic, social, and emotional growth
• Monitor student progress, adjusting strategies as needed for optimal outcomes
• Collaborate with related service providers, administrators, and colleagues to maintain a unified approach
• Communicate regularly with families regarding student successes and goal attainment
