Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid teaching certification (open to various types; special education focus preferred)
- Experience teaching at elementary, 10th grade, or 11th grade level is an asset
- Strong commitment to supporting students with special needs in a self-contained classroom setting
- Effective communication and classroom management skills
- Adaptable, positive, and collaborative approach working with students, families, and staff
- Onsite availability required
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored instruction and individualized support to students in self-contained classrooms (elementary or high school)
- Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams
- Foster a supportive, structured classroom environment that encourages academic, social, and emotional growth
- Monitor student progress, adjusting strategies as needed for optimal outcomes
- Collaborate with related service providers, administrators, and colleagues to maintain a unified approach
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student successes and goal attainment
