Take your next step supporting students as a Special Education Teacher focused on elementary grades K-5. This rewarding contract opportunity offers three openings within highly supportive, year-round programs designed to empower children with unique learning needs. You'll play an essential role in dedicated classrooms, serving students in specialized Autism Programs across various grade levels.

Open positions are available for:

  • Elementary K-2 Autism Program
  • Elementary 1st-3rd Autism Program
  • Elementary 3rd-5th Autism Program

Role Overview: Work Monday to Friday, 8:00am-3:30pm (with a 30-minute unpaid break) for approximately 35 hours per week. The contract extends from July 13th, 2026 through June 24th, 2027, and follows a year-round academic calendar with scheduled breaks for holidays and spring recess.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Current New York State certification in Special Education (Students with Disabilities), or eligibility to obtain/transfer your license.
  • Recent graduates with a Master’s or those relocating with an out-of-state license are encouraged—flexibility in licensure support is available.
  • Bachelor’s degree will be considered, though a master’s degree is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience writing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) is essential.
  • Passion for fostering an inclusive and engaging classroom environment.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with multidisciplinary teams.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement tailored lesson plans for students in designated Autism Programs.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate IEPs, progress reports, and documentation.
  • Foster a supportive, structured setting that encourages academic and social growth.
  • Participate in meetings and work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and therapists.

This opportunity includes competitive hourly compensation, ranging from $35 to $47 per hour, commensurate with experience.
