Special Education Teacher | Troy, New York

Step into an impactful role guiding and supporting Grade 8 learners as a Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. This contract position offers the rewarding opportunity to co-teach in English and Social Studies, collaborating closely with a fellow educator to meet the diverse needs of about 13 students. Starting August 17, 2026, you'll help drive student success through co-teaching, personalized support, and proactive partnership with the educational community.

What We’re Seeking:

• Valid New York State Educator License with Special Education Endorsement
• At least 2 years of recent teaching experience (preferred)
• Strong ability to collaboratively plan and deliver engaging instruction
• Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Skilled in working alongside related service providers and support staff
• Effective communicator with a passion for fostering student growth and inclusion

Core Responsibilities:

• Co-teach Grade 8 English and Social Studies, providing differentiated instruction
• Maintain a shared caseload, ensuring individualized support for all students
• Write comprehensive, compliant IEPs, and monitor student progress
• Collaborate effectively with general educators, related services, and families
• Facilitate an inclusive classroom environment that encourages growth and independence
• Remain adaptive and proactive to address student needs throughout the academic year
