This contract opportunity is designed for an experienced Special Education Teacher ready to support 4th and 5th graders in a dynamic elementary setting. The position runs from September 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, offering approximately 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 am to 3:00 pm.

You’ll work with a diverse caseload, providing targeted support both in resource settings (push-in/pull-out) and through co-teaching inclusion in general education classrooms. Your expertise will make a tangible impact on students requiring individualized attention and flexible instructional strategies.

Desired Background and Experience:

  • Valid New York State Teaching License for K-5 Teacher of Students with Disabilities is required.
  • Prior experience with special education at the elementary level—particularly 4th and 5th grade—is highly desirable.
  • Strong collaboration skills for co-teaching with general education staff.
  • Familiarity with both inclusion and resource instructional models.
  • Ability to deliver differentiated instruction and manage IEP implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging instruction to students with diverse learning needs in both inclusion and resource settings.
  • Adapt lessons to meet the unique needs of each learner, supporting academic and social development.
  • Collaborate closely with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers.
