Two openings are available for skilled educators who are passionate about working with self-contained classes, primarily at the elementary level with some potential involvement in middle grades.

Your skills will play a critical role in fostering an inclusive environment and delivering high-quality, individualized instruction.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university
• Valid Alabama Professional Certificate
• Must satisfy Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) federal and state standards
• Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher in school settings preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities
• Commitment to fostering a supportive, growth-minded classroom environment

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized instruction and support to students with diverse educational needs, in a self-contained classroom
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with legal and ethical guidelines
• Collaborate with general education teachers, school staff, and families to support student progress
• Maintain organized and up-to-date records of student performance and progress
• Establish structured routines and positive behavior support for classroom management
• Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and staff training sessions as required
