Special Education Teacher in Trussville, AL

You’ll be based onsite at the district office, supporting approximately seven students in a virtual school program committed to individualized learning and growth.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teaching certification required
• Experience working with virtual schools or similar remote educational settings preferred
• Strong skills in creating and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Ability to communicate effectively and advocate for students with diverse needs
• Proven track record of collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
• Passion for fostering inclusive and innovative learning environments

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver special education instruction and case management to students enrolled in a virtual school program
• Develop, monitor, and adjust IEPs in partnership with students, families, and other professionals
• Maintain clear and proactive communication with students, parents, and the Special Education Director
• Utilize instructional technology to engage students in remote learning environments
• Monitor and document student progress, making data-driven decisions for program adjustments
• Participate in collaborative meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities
