Special Education Teacher | Tullahoma, Tennessee

Take on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Special Education Teacher in a school environment near Tullahoma, TN. This assignment runs from now until the end of May 2027, offering consistent hours throughout the school year. In this role, you’ll focus on delivering both direct and indirect instructional minutes to approximately 23 students, with no case management responsibilities. One student will require instructional support in Braille.

Key Qualifications:

• Active, valid Tennessee Educator License (via TNCompass) is mandatory
• Eligible license tiers: Practitioner (initial 3-year standard or alternative/job-embedded pathway) or Professional (standard 6-year advanced)
• Possess at least one TDOE Special Education endorsement, such as:
  • Special Education Interventionist (K-8) or (6-12), addressing mild-to-moderate disabilities
  • Special Education Comprehensive (K-12), supporting students with severe/profound/multiple disabilities
  • Special Education Early Childhood (Pre-K-3), focused on early intervention
• Comfortable providing specialized instruction, including for students learning Braille

Core Responsibilities:

• Provide designated direct and indirect instructional minutes, following student IEPs and educational plans
• Adapt instruction to meet the unique needs of students with a variety of learning profiles
• Collaborate with general education staff and families to support student progress
• Maintain accurate service documentation and adhere to school procedures
• Participate in relevant faculty meetings and professional development as required
