Special Education Teacher in Tullahoma, TN

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

• Current and active 461 TN Special Education license (required)
• Proven experience teaching in a special education setting, preferably with K-2nd grade
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Ability to adapt instructional strategies to different learning needs
• Commitment to developing individualized education plans (IEPs) and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
• Organizational skills to balance documentation, planning, and direct instruction
• Compassion, patience, and a positive, problem-solving approach

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver engaging lessons tailored to students’ individual needs and IEP goals in a self-contained classroom
• Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning atmosphere
• Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and administrators to provide comprehensive support
• Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to families and support teams
• Document academic and behavioral progress in compliance with school and regulatory requirements
