Make a difference supporting remarkable students in a full-time, contract-to-hire role at a psychiatric residential treatment facility for grades 2-12. This opportunity allows you to work closely with a targeted caseload of secondary students (grades 6-12) who have Emotional and Behavioral Disorders (EBD), Other Health Impairments (OHI), and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). You'll join a resource support team focused on helping students develop the skills they need to transition successfully to mainstream middle and high school environments.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education licensure (or eligibility)
- Demonstrated experience teaching students with EBD, OHI, and ASD
- Strong knowledge of resource room models and individualized instruction
- Ability to manage and group 15 students for highly effective learning
- Skilled in IEP development, progress monitoring, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Dedication to fostering an inclusive, structured, and supportive classroom environment
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide special education resource services to students in grades 6-12
- Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and track student progress
- Organize instructional groups as needed to maximize learning
- Collaborate with mental health professionals, administration, and support staff
- Communicate regularly with families and team members
- Maintain a classroom ratio of 1 teacher + 1 adult per every 4 students
- Guide students working toward reintegration into mainstream classes
