Qualifications and Experience:
- Current South Carolina Special Education license, including required Early Childhood endorsements
- Solid background in early intervention, with experience in preschool special education (3-year-olds preferred)
- Proven ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with comfort in engaging families, staff, and multi-disciplinary teams
- Adaptability, creativity, and patience in dynamic classroom environments
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction to preschool-aged students, specifically those aged three, within a Developmental Delay classroom
- Assess students’ needs and progress, tailoring instruction to support varied learning styles and abilities
- Collaborate with colleagues, therapists, and parents to create and update IEPs, contributing to holistic student growth
- Utilize evidence-based strategies and incorporate engaging, age-appropriate materials to foster development across cognitive, social, and motor domains
- Nurture a positive, inclusive environment that encourages each child’s participation and success
