Key Qualifications:
- Current certification in Special Education, with additional credentials in educational administration or supervision preferred
- Prior experience as a Special Education Teacher and/or Education Director or Coordinator
- Strong understanding of special education laws, compliance standards, and individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with teachers, parents, and outside agencies to ensure appropriate student support
- Proven track record in developing and delivering training, supporting instructional staff, and fostering an inclusive environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee all special education programs, operations, and compliance requirements within the district
- Supervise and support teaching staff, including providing guidance on IEP development and implementation
- Coordinate referrals, assessments, placements, and services for students with diverse needs
- Ensure regulatory compliance with state and federal mandates and maintain necessary documentation
- Serve as a liaison among educators, families, and external providers to optimize student success
- Lead professional development and training focused on best practices and instructional strategies
