Key Qualifications:

  • Current certification in Special Education, with additional credentials in educational administration or supervision preferred
  • Prior experience as a Special Education Teacher and/or Education Director or Coordinator
  • Strong understanding of special education laws, compliance standards, and individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with teachers, parents, and outside agencies to ensure appropriate student support
  • Proven track record in developing and delivering training, supporting instructional staff, and fostering an inclusive environment

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all special education programs, operations, and compliance requirements within the district
  • Supervise and support teaching staff, including providing guidance on IEP development and implementation
  • Coordinate referrals, assessments, placements, and services for students with diverse needs
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with state and federal mandates and maintain necessary documentation
  • Serve as a liaison among educators, families, and external providers to optimize student success
  • Lead professional development and training focused on best practices and instructional strategies
