Special Education Teacher - Union, SC

Seeking a dynamic Special Education Teacher to inspire and support learners in a full-time, contract position. This opportunity is focused in a self-contained classroom dedicated to students with learning disabilities. You’ll be part of a collaborative school team, delivering personalized education that helps each student shine. With 37.5 hours per week on-site, you’ll make a meaningful difference to students requiring structured, individualized instruction.

Qualifications:

• Valid South Carolina teaching certification in Special Education or in pending status (must be able to provide proof)
• Previous experience or strong interest in managing self-contained learning disability (LD) classrooms
• Deep knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and compliance
• Strong classroom management and creative instructional skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with parents, support staff, and fellow educators
• Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver engaging lessons tailored to students with learning disabilities
• Use a variety of instructional strategies to reach diverse learners
• Develop, implement, and track Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and administrators
