Special Education Teacher - Uniontown, Pennsylvania

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Pennsylvania Special Education Educator Certification is required
• Demonstrated experience or strong interest in working with students on the autism spectrum
• Ability to design and implement differentiated instruction and individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
• Experience in an educational setting, especially in Special Education, is highly valued
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging, goal-oriented instruction as outlined in students’ IEPs
• Collaborate closely with general education teachers, support staff, and families to maximize student success
• Develop lesson plans, collect data, and monitor progress, making adjustments as needed
• Employ evidence-based interventions and positive behavioral supports
• Document and report student progress in compliance with state and district guidelines
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and welcoming classroom climate

As an on-site Autistic Support Teacher, you’ll work full-time through the academic year, with daily hours and specific scheduling to be determined. The assignment runs from August to May and is subject to adjustment based on district needs.
