Grades 6 - 8 Special Education Teacher - Upper Darby, PA

Make a difference in the lives of middle schoolers as a Special Education Teacher for grades 6 through 8 for the 2026-2027 school year. This contract position serves a vibrant middle school population, providing vital academic and social support through both push-in and pull-out services. The position is located near Upper Darby, PA, with easily accessible hours from 8:15 AM to 4:15 PM, Monday through Friday, totaling 40 hours per week. You'll collaborate closely with staff and families to offer individualized strategies, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications/Experience Needed:

• Holds (or can obtain by end of July) Pennsylvania Instructional I or II certification in Special Education K-12.
• Demonstrated expertise in special education instruction, ideally with middle school students.
• Strong understanding of diverse learning styles and accommodations.
• Excellent communication and organization skills for case management and IEP development.
• Flexible and collaborative approach to working with multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction to 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students using push-in and pull-out models.
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
• Support students’ social-emotional development and classroom participation.
• Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to promote inclusion.
