Take on a rewarding full-time contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher at a well-established elementary school. You'll be working onsite, 35 hours per week, with a set schedule of 8:30AM to 4PM, and have the opportunity to impact students in a dynamic, urban educational environment through the end of the 2026-2027 school year.
Key Qualifications:
- Holds active special education certification/licensure suitable for assigned caseload
- Bachelor’s degree required (needed for emergency teaching permit, if applicable)
- Solid classroom experience in a school setting
- Demonstrates strong instructional skills, subject mastery, and resourcefulness in delivering content
- Able to design and implement lesson plans that align with state and district standards
- Highly skilled in formative assessments and differentiation to meet diverse learner needs
- Excellent classroom and behavioral management abilities
- Experienced working in urban schools and comfortable adapting to district/location culture
- Brings a reliable means of transportation to ensure punctuality daily
- Capable of completing all necessary Pennsylvania clearances prior to start
Position Responsibilities:
- Lead in-person instruction and provide support for students with disabilities
- Develop, adapt, and deliver engaging lesson plans tailored to individual student needs
- Apply best practices in classroom management, fostering a positive and inclusive environment
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
- Collaborate with other educators, therapists, and families to support student success
- Maintain accurate records and comply with all district, state, and federal requirements
