K-5 Grades 6 - 8 Special Education Teacher - Upper Darby, Pennsylvania

This long-term contract covers the academic year through June 2027, enabling you to foster lasting growth with students and collaborate with a passionate team.

This position is ideal for educators experienced in Special Education who are adept at managing varying classroom needs and crafting individualized education plans (IEPs). Candidates with solid foundations in behavior management, differentiated instruction, and a commitment to inclusive practices will thrive.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Pennsylvania Instructional I or II Special Education certificate (K-12) is strongly preferred
• Consideration for emergency-certified candidates with a minimum of 2 years of experience, and active enrollment in a certification program or scheduled Praxis exam
• Demonstrated capability in writing and maintaining IEPs and effective case management
• Experience supporting both emotional and learning needs, ideally in grades K-6
• Strong communication, collaboration, and adaptability skills

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and intervention to students requiring emotional and/or learning support in floating assignments
• Develop, implement, and regularly update IEPs
• Facilitate communication and collaboration among students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Employ evidence-based instructional strategies tailored to individual student needs
• Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment
• Participate in team meetings, professional development, and ongoing assessment processes

This role offers competitive hourly compensation between $39 and $55, reflecting your skills and experience.
