Special Education Teacher - Upper Darby, PA

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

• Valid and active Special Education Teacher certification/licensure (required for assigned caseload)
• Bachelor’s degree required (for those seeking an emergency teaching permit)
• Demonstrated mastery of instructional skills and relevant subject matter
• Prior experience working in school settings; urban educational experience is a plus
• Ability to design and execute lesson plans aligned with standards
• Strong classroom and behavioral management capabilities
• Comfortable working with district leadership and familiarity with urban communities
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills
• Must be able to complete all required PA clearances
• Reliable transportation necessary
• Ability to work onsite, 35 hours per week, Monday–Friday between 8:30AM and 4:00PM (no accommodations for alternate schedules)

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized lesson plans based on student needs
• Monitor student progress through ongoing assessments
• Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources
• Foster a safe, supportive classroom environment with effective behavioral management
• Collaborate with staff, administration, and families to support student success

This contract runs through June 10, 2027, with a prompt start date available. Interviews will be conducted via Zoom to ensure a smooth and efficient process.
