Special Education Teacher - Upper Marlboro, Maryland

Key Qualifications:

• Hold current MSDE Special Education Teacher certification
• Experience working with early childhood or preschool-aged students preferred
• Ability to travel between sites locally (mileage not provided; travel time is compensated)
• No travel restrictions—candidates must be comfortable and able to move between locations during the school day
• Strong organizational skills and adaptability
• Commitment to inclusive and differentiated instruction
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver specially designed instruction for students with diverse learning needs in early childhood programs
• Travel between multiple sites throughout the week to provide direct services as scheduled
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, related service providers, and families to support each student’s IEP
• Maintain student records, progress monitoring, and documentation in accordance with state and district requirements
• Participate in IEP meetings and provide input on instructional strategies and student progress
• Adapt teaching strategies and materials to foster engagement and achievement
• Promote positive classroom climates and inclusive practices in all assigned settings
