Make a difference supporting K-8 neurodiverse students in a dynamic educational environment. We’re seeking passionate Special Education Teachers for two openings—one for a traditional LBS1 credential and another with Early Childhood Special Education certification. Both roles are contract-based and located in the vibrant area near Urbana, IL.

These positions offer a chance to foster growth, confidence, and learning for children with a variety of needs, all within manageable caseloads of fewer than ten students. You’ll collaborate with other educators and support staff to deliver individualized learning plans that meet each child at their unique level.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid LBS1 Special Education Teaching License (required for one position)
  • Early Childhood Special Education certification (required for the other position)
  • Experience or strong interest in working with neurodiverse students in grades K-8
  • Strong communication and organization skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment

Role Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for each student
  • Adapt instructional materials and strategies for diverse learning needs
  • Provide direct instruction and behavioral support tailored to each child
  • Maintain regular communication with parents, caregivers, and school teams
  • Complete documentation and progress reports in a timely manner
  • Attend professional development August 13–17; first day with students is August 18
