The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to differentiated instruction and evidence-based strategies tailored for students with moderate/severe needs or extensive support requirements. You’ll be able to leverage your knowledge within a supportive team, creating a positive and inclusive classroom culture.
Qualifications:
- Valid California teaching credential in Moderate/Severe Disabilities or Extensive Support Needs
- Experience or strong interest in K-12 special education environments
- Ability to implement individual education plans (IEPs)
- Passion for advocating for students with diverse learning needs
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with families, staff, and service providers
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement individualized lesson plans for students with moderate to severe disabilities
- Adapt curriculum materials and modify instruction to fit each student’s unique strengths and challenges
- Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom climate
- Track student progress and maintain detailed educational records
- Work in partnership with general education teachers and support staff
- Engage in regular IEP meetings, parent conferences, and school events
