Special Education Teacher | Valmora, New Mexico

This full-time contract position spans the academic year and offers you the chance to connect deeply with a small caseload—approximately eight students—in a single school setting. Enjoy a work-life balance with a four-day school week, working Monday through Thursday from 7:30AM to 4:20PM.

Desired Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification
• Background in SPED instruction, preferably across diverse grade levels (K-12)
• Skill in creating and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and staff
• Patience, flexibility, and a commitment to inclusive learning environments

Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver tailored instructional plans to meet individual student needs
• Monitor progress and maintain accurate documentation for each student
• Facilitate communication and collaboration with general education teachers and support staff
• Conduct regular assessments and adjust teaching strategies as needed
• Foster a supportive, engaging, and positive classroom atmosphere
• Partner with families to keep them updated and involved in their child's growth and progress
