Special Education Teacher | Valparaiso, Indiana

Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher supporting 5th and 6th grade students with mild interventions in a collaborative school environment. In this contract role, you will work with Northwest Indiana Special Education Cooperative at the Lowell Intermediate campus, providing both push-in and pull-out services to help students succeed academically and socially.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include serving as the Teacher of Record for assigned students, developing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), conducting regular progress monitoring, and collaborating closely with general and special education staff. Your dedication to fostering a supportive, inclusive classroom will ensure that every learner receives the guidance and resources they need to thrive.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teacher licensure in Indiana (or eligibility to obtain).
• Experience working with mild intervention needs in a school setting preferred.
• Proficient in writing IEPs and implementing progress monitoring systems.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to provide both push-in and pull-out instructional support.
• Comfortable working with upper elementary or middle school-aged students.
• Strong organizational skills to fulfill Teacher of Record responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
