Middle School Special Education Teacher (LBS1) – Vernon Hills, IL | 2026–2027 School Year | Full-Time

Soliant is seeking a dedicated LBS1 Special Education Teacher for a full-time opportunity in Vernon Hills, Illinois for the 2026–2027 school year. This position is perfect for educators who thrive in both collaborative and independent settings while supporting middle school students in resource and co-taught classrooms.

Position Details

• Full-time

• 2026–2027 school year

• Start Date: August 17, 2026

• End Date: May 28, 2027 (pending emergency weather days)

• 35 hours per week, plus a 30-minute lunch each day

• Pay: Starting pay at $37 an hour (negotiable depending on experience) 

Schedule

• Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 7:20 AM – 2:50 PM

• Wednesday: 7:20 AM – 3:05 PM

Caseload

• Split between two middle schools located just 5 minutes apart

• Half day at one school site 

• Half day at the other school site 

• Co-taught and resource classes for 8th-grade students

• Resource classes of approximately 8–10 students

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction to middle school students with diverse learning needs

• Deliver resource support and collaborate in co-taught classrooms

• Develop and implement IEPs

• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation

• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to support student success

Qualifications

• Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)

• LBS1 Endorsement required

• Previous middle school special education experience preferred

• Strong background in resource instruction

• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with school staff
