Special Education Teacher | Villa Park, Illinois

Step into a rewarding opportunity as a Special Education Teacher in a vibrant middle school setting. This contract position runs from August 17th through May 28th, offering a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week. You will have the chance to make a real difference, working with approximately 15 students in a resource or co-taught environment. Your expertise will help guide students toward greater academic and social success throughout the school year.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid teaching certification in Special Education
• Experience creating and implementing IEPs for middle school students
• Strong classroom management skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities with fellow teachers, staff, and parents
• Previous work in resource or co-taught settings preferred, but not required
• Familiarity with differentiated instruction and accommodations

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction and adapt lessons for a resource or co-taught classroom of up to 15 students
• Develop, review, and update individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Monitor student progress, collect data, and report outcomes to parents and staff
• Collaborate with general education teachers and, when available, teaching assistants or paraprofessionals
• Foster a supportive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
• Participate in staff meetings, IEP meetings, and professional development sessions as needed
