Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid teaching certification in Special Education (or eligibility for licensure in Virginia)
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
• Strong classroom management and individualized instruction skills
• Experience developing and implementing IEPs

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and staff
• Previous experience in a school-based setting is highly valued

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver specialized instruction tailored to students’ diverse learning styles and abilities
• Develop, update, and track progress on IEP goals in accordance with state and federal guidelines
• Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
• Engage families in the educational process and communicate student progress
• Utilize data to inform instruction and modify teaching strategies as needed
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom culture
• Participate in ongoing professional development activities
