Key Qualifications:

• Possess a valid Louisiana Special Education Teaching Certificate or a standard Louisiana teaching certificate (with willingness to pursue SPED certification)
• Experience or strong interest in working with students with autism and/or moderate disabilities
• Previous experience in a special education classroom preferred
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with students, families, and colleagues
• Ready to work full-time, onsite, for the entire 2026-2027 academic year

Main Responsibilities:

• Deliver tailored instructional and behavioral interventions to meet IEP goals
• Collaborate with general education teachers, counselors, and support staff
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation on student progress
• Develop and implement behavior management strategies as needed
• Participate in IEP meetings and communicate regularly with families
• Create an encouraging, engaging, and safe learning atmosphere for all students
