Special Education Teacher - Wabash, IN

As an Elementary Resource Teacher, you'll play an essential role in helping students access their education while collaborating closely with general education colleagues.

Starting January 4th, you'll be responsible for providing targeted resource services to students, teaching self-contained instructional blocks, and assisting with classroom modifications and accommodations. Your skill in writing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) will ensure that each student receives the tailored support they need to achieve academic success.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification
• Experience in an elementary school setting preferred
• Strong understanding of resource service delivery for mild disabilities
• Proven ability to modify curriculum and work collaboratively with general education staff
• Skilled in writing and managing IEPs
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction to students with mild disabilities in resource and self-contained settings
• Collaborate with general education teachers to modify content and learning materials
• Design and implement accommodations to support student inclusion
• Develop, write, and review IEPs in accordance with state and federal guidelines
• Collect and analyze data to monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed
• Foster positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
