Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education.
- Previous experience teaching Special Education at the upper elementary or middle grade levels (4th–6th grade highly preferred).
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Strong organizational and communication skills to collaborate with staff and families.
- Demonstrated commitment to creating an inclusive classroom environment.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet diverse student needs.
- SPED 26/27 endorsement or relevant experience encouraged.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with general education teachers to co-teach or consult on classroom modifications and accommodations.
- Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans tailored to various learning needs and styles.
- Utilize data-driven instruction and ongoing assessment to monitor student progress.
- Conduct and participate in IEP meetings, maintaining all required documentation.
- Establish positive, supportive relationships with students, building their self-advocacy and independence.
- Create structured, safe environments conducive to learning and growth.
- Communicate regularly with families about progress, goals, and strategies for success.
