Make a difference in the lives of young learners as a Special Education Teacher supporting primary and elementary students in a dynamic, contract role. This opportunity spans multiple sites—serving students in multi-categorical self-contained, early childhood, and resource settings for grades K-8. Candidates will teach onsite during the 2026-2027 school year, with a schedule of 37.5 hours each week.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Valid South Carolina Teaching License (active; required)
  • BOTH Special Education and Early Childhood Education degree or certification
  • Multi-Categorical (Multi-Cat) endorsement
  • Experience working with children in self-contained, resource, and early childhood special education environments
  • Strong classroom management and adaptation skills
  • Collaborative approach to working with colleagues and families
  • Excellent communication skills

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging instruction to students in a variety of special education settings (multi-cat self-contained K-2, K-8 EC resource, K-5 ED resource, and early childhood resource classrooms)
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students’ needs
  • Collect and analyze student progress data
  • Support students’ social, emotional, and academic development
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure comprehensive support
  • Participate in IEP meetings and comply with special education regulations
  • Maintain clear documentation and meet reporting deadlines
