Special Education Teacher in Walnut Cove, NC

Two opportunities are available: one in a General Curriculum classroom and another in an Adapted Curriculum setting.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification appropriate for middle school level
• Previous experience working with students in special education programs (General Curriculum and/or Adapted Curriculum strongly preferred)
• Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Dedication to fostering an inclusive, dynamic, and positive learning atmosphere

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and adapt curriculum to suit individual learner needs in either a General or Adapted Curriculum classroom
• Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, paraprofessionals, and families to ensure student success
• Develop and update individualized education plans (IEPs) based on student progress, assessments, and team input
• Utilize evidence-based teaching strategies and interventions
• Foster a supportive, encouraging, and respectful classroom environment for all students
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with local and federal guidelines
