A full-time Special Education Teacher opportunity is available for an onsite position in St. George, South Carolina, approximately 45 minutes from Charleston. This role supports elementary students across grades K-5, providing specialized instruction within a resource setting for a caseload of about 23 students. Multiple teaching assistants assist in the classroom to support student success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction and interventions tailored to students with diverse learning needs in an elementary resource environment.
- Collaborate with teaching assistants and school staff to implement effective educational plans and accommodations.
- Monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and communicate with parents and staff to support student growth.
- Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to meet the unique requirements of each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP).
- Ensure compliance with all applicable special education laws and school policies.
Qualifications:
- Valid certification in Special Education.
- Experience working with elementary-aged students in a K-5 setting.
- Ability to manage a caseload effectively with the support of teaching assistants.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Knowledge of current special education best practices and legal requirements.
Location and Hours:
- Position is based onsite in St. George, South Carolina.
- Full-time, 40 hours per week.
- Contract term begins ASAP and continues through the end of the school year.
