Elementary Early Childhood Special Education Teacher in Wappingers Falls, NY

The assignment begins upon completion of background checks and continues through June 26, 2026, with an exciting summer program option spanning six weeks.

You’ll work full time at 35 hours a week, providing both structure and flexibility in your work-life balance. Caseloads vary, with the largest class consisting of 12 students with a dedicated teacher; some groups are smaller and well-supported by additional staff. Students present a range of needs, including some who communicate non-verbally and others with behavioral challenges—comprehensive training and staff collaboration ensure you’re equipped to deliver effective support.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid NY State Special Education Teacher Certification appropriate to assigned grade levels
• Master’s degree in Education (required)
• Experience working across early childhood, elementary, middle, or high school settings preferred
• Understanding of diverse learning, behavioral, and communication needs
• Team-oriented with excellent communication and organizational skills

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and group instruction tailored to each student’s IEP
• Collaborate with teaching assistants and support staff to provide comprehensive care
• Implement behavioral support plans with evidence-based strategies
• Maintain detailed, timely documentation and progress reports
• Foster a supportive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
