Special Ed Teacher - Warren, Michigan

A full-time opportunity is available for a Certified Elementary Cognitively Impaired (CI) Teacher to serve K–2 students in a school setting located in Warren, MI. This contract position involves working onsite exclusively, providing specialized education to young learners with cognitive impairments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver instruction tailored to the needs of students with cognitive impairments in grades K–2
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with families and support staff
• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting teaching methods to enhance learning outcomes
• Maintain a safe and supportive classroom environment that encourages student growth and engagement
• Collaborate with other educators and specialists to ensure a comprehensive approach to student development

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Special Education License with a CI or ASD endorsement is required
• Certification in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or a commitment to obtain and maintain this certification annually
• Experience working with young children with special needs preferred
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
