Qualifications:
- Current teaching certification in Special Education (required)
- Experience working with elementary-aged students in a resource or similar setting
- Familiarity with developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to engage with students, families, and colleagues
- Adaptability and problem-solving skills to address diverse student needs
- Commitment to fostering a supportive, positive classroom atmosphere
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction to students in the elementary resource classroom
- Collaborate with another Resource SPED Teacher to plan and deliver effective lessons and accommodations
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs according to student needs and legal requirements
- Work in partnership with general education teachers to encourage inclusive practices
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate progress with families and support staff
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and professional development as needed
