Special Education Teacher in Warren, MI

Qualifications:

• Current teaching certification in Special Education (required)
• Experience working with elementary-aged students in a resource or similar setting
• Familiarity with developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to engage with students, families, and colleagues
• Adaptability and problem-solving skills to address diverse student needs
• Commitment to fostering a supportive, positive classroom atmosphere

Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction to students in the elementary resource classroom
• Collaborate with another Resource SPED Teacher to plan and deliver effective lessons and accommodations
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs according to student needs and legal requirements
• Work in partnership with general education teachers to encourage inclusive practices
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate progress with families and support staff
• Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and professional development as needed
