Special Education Teacher in Warren, MI

Qualifications:

• Current Special Education License with CI or ASD endorsement
• Certification in CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention), or a willingness to obtain and maintain it annually
• Previous experience working with elementary-aged students in a special education setting is highly valued
• Strong communication abilities and a collaborative, student-centered approach

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs
• Provide direct instruction and support to K–2 students with cognitive impairments
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and regularly communicate with parents and multidisciplinary teams
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment, using de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques as necessary
• Participate in ongoing professional development and adhere to all compliance and reporting requirements
