Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teaching certification
• Experience working with students affected by emotional impairments, preferably at the elementary level
• Strong classroom management and de-escalation skills
• Ability to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Knowledge of evidence-based interventions and instructional strategies
• Clear communication and collaboration skills to engage with families, colleagues, and support staff

Your Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and support to elementary students with emotional impairments in accordance with their IEPs
• Design lesson plans tailored to academic, social, and emotional needs
• Foster a safe, predictable, and inclusive classroom environment
• Collaborate closely with general education teachers, school psychologists, counselors, and paraprofessionals
• Regularly assess student progress and adapt interventions as needed
• Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and ongoing professional development
• Stay current on best practices in special education and emotional/behavioral support
