Special Education Teacher in Warren, MI

Qualifications:

• Valid Michigan Special Education Teaching Certification with an ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) endorsement required
• Previous experience working with elementary-aged students, preferably in a self-contained or special education classroom
• Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and documentation
• Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills
• Passion for supporting students with ASD and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver engaging, individualized instruction for students with ASD within a self-contained classroom
• Collaborate with fellow educators, therapists, and support staff to develop and implement IEPs
• Utilize evidence-based teaching strategies and behavioral supports
• Foster a supportive learning atmosphere that encourages social, emotional, and academic growth
• Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with families regarding student progress
