A school in Warren, OH is seeking an experienced Special Education Teacher to serve as an Intervention Specialist for the 2026/2027 school year. This contract position focuses on supporting high school students with special needs by managing a high school caseload and developing an innovative, career center–based classroom aimed at preparing students for employment opportunities after graduation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and support a high school special education caseload.
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) that meet the needs of students with disabilities.
- Establish and lead a new career center–based classroom designed to provide career preparation and job readiness skills.
- Collaborate with school staff, families, and community partners to enhance student learning and post-secondary success.
- Utilize experience and best practices to foster student independence and career development.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience working as a Special Education Teacher, preferably at the high school level.
- Demonstrated ability or experience in career preparation and transition services for students with special needs.
- Strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and instructional strategies.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
