Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students in a vibrant educational community. This contract Special Education teaching position runs from August 13, 2026, through June 3, 2027, and features a full-time Monday through Friday schedule (37.5 hours per week, 7:15am–3:15pm). The caseloads range from mild to moderate self-contained classrooms at the middle and high school levels, as well as inclusion roles supporting larger student groups and an additional assignment at a nearby STEM school.

Key Qualifications & Desired Skills

  • Valid Special Education Teacher certification.
  • Experience with students with a range of academic, behavioral, and learning needs, particularly in a resource or self-contained setting.
  • Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring.
  • Classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with students, staff, and families.
  • Background in English is a plus for inclusion roles, but not required.

Role Responsibilities

  • Provide direct, individualized instruction to students in self-contained and inclusion settings.
  • Manage a caseload of approximately 12 students in mild to moderate self-contained, and up to 40 in inclusion roles.
  • Support 5 students at the neighboring STEM school within the same building.
  • Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Adapt lessons and instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of all students.
  • Partner with general education staff and support personnel to promote student success and growth.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
