This contract Special Education teaching position runs from August 13, 2026, through June 3, 2027, and features a full-time Monday through Friday schedule (37.5 hours per week, 7:15am–3:15pm). The caseloads range from mild to moderate self-contained classrooms at the middle and high school levels, as well as inclusion roles supporting larger student groups and an additional assignment at a nearby STEM school.
Key Qualifications & Desired Skills
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification.
- Experience with students with a range of academic, behavioral, and learning needs, particularly in a resource or self-contained setting.
- Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring.
- Classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with students, staff, and families.
- Background in English is a plus for inclusion roles, but not required.
Role Responsibilities
- Provide direct, individualized instruction to students in self-contained and inclusion settings.
- Manage a caseload of approximately 12 students in mild to moderate self-contained, and up to 40 in inclusion roles.
- Support 5 students at the neighboring STEM school within the same building.
- Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
- Adapt lessons and instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of all students.
- Partner with general education staff and support personnel to promote student success and growth.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
