Special Education Teacher | Warrenton, North Carolina

Make an immediate impact supporting elementary students by joining a school community as a Special Education Teacher on a contract basis for the 2026-2027 school year. This opportunity offers a meaningful way to utilize your expertise with a dedicated resource classroom, serving students from now until June 4, 2027. The assignment is onsite, offering the unique chance to connect with and support the academic and social development of up to 32 students.

As an integral part of the educational team, you will:

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification required
• Previous experience working in elementary school settings strongly preferred
• Strong instructional and classroom management abilities
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with colleagues, administrators, and parents
• Ability to develop and implement IEPs for diverse learners

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver resource support and instruction to a classroom of elementary students with varying needs
• Develop individualized lesson plans that accommodate each student’s learning style and IEP goals
• Track and document student progress, adjusting strategies as appropriate to maximize success
• Collaborate regularly with general education teachers and support staff
• Maintain an inclusive, positive, and organized classroom environment
• Engage in ongoing communication with families regarding student progress
