Special Education Teacher - Warwick, RI

Step into a rewarding role supporting elementary students with Autism and other developmental disabilities in an onsite, full-time contract position for the 2024-2025 school year. With three positions available, you’ll have the unique opportunity to make a profound impact in a specialized setting. Each classroom is thoughtfully designed for 8-12 students, allowing for more individualized instruction and personalized support.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification
• Experience working in elementary classrooms
• Understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities
• Strong communication, patience, and adaptability
• Ability to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Dedication to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom community

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver specialized instruction tailored to students’ individual needs
• Design and modify lesson plans to support diverse learning styles
• Track student progress and communicate effectively with parents and team members
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals and related service providers
• Maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom environment
• Participate in ongoing professional development
